This conference is for the entire homeopathic remedies community in the US. There are talks about alternative medicine and homeopathic remedies as well as social events and discussion groups. The conference is sponsored by the National Center for Homeopathy (NCH), a homeopathic remedies interest group. The NCH also has a series of homeopathic remedies seminars called The Homeopath's Toolbox.

There is a really interesting subsection of alternative medicine that has an alternative medicine conference that has been taking place for 24 years. This rarely talked about part of alternative medicine is wilderness medicine. Wilderness medicine is a type of alternative medicine used in difficult conditions with limited supplies. The alternative medicine company, Mountain Medical Seminars: Wilderness and Travel Medicine puts on a few conferences each year. They set their alternative medicine conferences in some of the most beautiful natural places in the world. For instance, this February there is an alternative medicine conference at Big Sky Ski Resort in Montana and another weekend of the same alternative medicine conference in Utah at the Snowbird Ski Resort. They do this for a few reasons. The mountains at the alternative medicine conferences provide both entertainment for between sessions and hands on classrooms for demonstrations in wilderness alternative medicine. They also hold their conferences in these beautiful places to attract prospective attendees. Plus, they know their audience loves nature; in the summer they have alternative medicine trips to places like the Amazon Rainforest and Mount Kilimanjaro.

There are also hundreds of other homeopathic remedies and alternative medicine conferences around the world from Berlin to Milan to Delhi. In fact the US is among the last to arrive on the homeopathic remedies bandwagon. The rest of the world has been using alternative forms of medicine like homeopathic remedies for the thousands of years before Europeans found the New World. In the days before Europeans on American soil there were alternative medicine techniques similar to homeopathic remedies used by the Native American populations. However, with the destruction of their culture, tribes, and land their alternative medicine practices have never been used en masse by the European inspired American population.

You may be asking yourself why this matters because homeopathic remedies as we know them have only been around for 200 years. However, that cultural openness to something other than allopathic medicine is ingrained in the minds and cultures in other places in the world. That makes people more open to alternative medicine and homeopathic remedies.
